Hello, I am Amelia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in London, United Kingdom.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter abroad.
How It Started
Moving to United Kingdom wasn't in our long-term plans. As with many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more substantial.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and rising expectations. Daily tasks seemed more intricate than they should.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing were part of the experience. But gradually, routines formed. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Humble Forest Nest
Most information online was either corporate-level relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family viewpoint.
